The Hardy Dam on the Muskegon River created this 6-mile “pond,” which makes for some good fishing. Sites are spacious and private thanks to good distances and brush in between them, and the oak and poplar provide good shade. There are better choices for kids if they need distraction, but White Pine Trail State Park isn’t far for hikers and bikers.
