Proud Lake State Recreation Area River Trail

Proud Lake State Recreation Area: River Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The River Trail crosses through a huge swath of the Proud Lake State Recreation Area, giving hikers a good sense of the park’s varied landscape. The trail initially runs along the wooded southern banks of the Huron River and then moves into rolling woodlands and marshlands. The trail also crosses an unusual dam that forms Moss Lake, an area that lures lots of kayakers, swimmers, and anglers. As the trail nears its end, it passes through a red pine plantation."
