The area south of Marenisco is riddled with lakes amid the Ottawa National Forest. Reservations are not taken, but should these rustic camps be full, another may be open just a few miles away. Moosehead, like the others, is primarily attractive to anglers. The sites are well shaded with gravel parking spurs and surrounded by intervening brush for privacy. A boat ramp is on-site, and the lake offers pike, crappie, bluegill, bass, and even muskellunge.
