Merwin Creek State Forest Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Seney National Wildlife Refuge offers astounding nature watching, and the Manistique River on its 60-mile route to Lake Michigan is a nice vantage point. South of the refuge are this campground and the similar Mead Creek Campground, which is about a 30-mile drive north. Merwin Creek is closer to Lake Michigan. Anglers fish for lake trout, lake her- ring, pike, bass, walleye, perch, muskie, and bluegill. A gravel ramp gets medium-size boats into the water. The campground is on the east side of the river and offers privacy and at least partial shade."
