Little Manistee River

Little Manistee River Professional Review and Guide

"A quick and narrow river that winds through Manistee National Forest, this favorite of local anglers sees relatively light paddling traffic.

The Little Manistee is an attractive stream that offers good paddling for competent canoeists looking to escape for a day trip or overnight excursion. Yet the allure of other nearby rivers (Pere Marquette, Manistee, and Pine) keeps paddling traffic relatively light. Even on summer weekends, the hordes of canoeists that routinely descend on the river’s better-known neighbors are absent from the Little Manistee. But you will still need to keep an eye out for anglers, for this is one of the Lower Peninsula’s more popular trout streams."
