Pintail Pond Nature Trail

Pintail Pond Nature Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A self-guided interpretive hike in pond habitat. Pintail Pond offers a self-guided nature trail looping around watery lowlands and nearby Gamble Creek. The trail is a part of the 13-mile trail system known as the Rifle River Recreation Area. The trail is an easy hike even for the casual hiker, passing through mixed habitat approximately 1 mile north of the Rifle River.

Terrain is generally flat, presenting no obstacles to hikers regardless of experience. Wear comfortable shoes. Special attractions: Flora and fauna along the shores of Pintail Pond and a neighboring creek. Wildflowers abound in early spring."

I walked part of this trail while geocaching with my wife and in laws. The trail was in good shape and really well maintained. I would like to go back and complete the trail - possibly in snow shoes.
