Mount Arvon - Michigan Highpoint Professional Review and Guide
"Highpoint rank by height: 38th. In past years it was very difficult to follow the correct road to this highpoint. However, now the road is clearly marked with numerous light blue, diamond-shaped signs. Some signs are large, and contain the words "Mt. Arvon - Michigan's highest point." These have an arrow pointing the correct way. Between these large signs are small, light blue diamond-shaped signs spaced regularly along the road. These smaller signs are attached to trees. Generally, the correct road is obvious, even without the blue diamond signs.
Much of the road is easily navigated with a passenger car. However, the last half mile or so to the parking area may be too muddy and rough to navigate without a high-clearance 4-wheel-drive vehicle. If in doubt about the ability of your vehicle to make it through the mud puddles, hop out of your car and enjoy the walk up the rest of the road. AAA probably won't be able to come tow you out of here, and it's a long walk back to civilization!"
