The LakeLands Trail Loop Professional Review and Guide
"LakeLands Trail State Park officially opened in 1994. So far, of the planned 36 miles, 12.6 miles of the crushed-stone trail have been completed. What exists already is fantastic. Because the railroad corridor was abandoned approximately twenty years ago, the vegetation has had years to grow, so you'll find tunnels of trees and in them birds of all colors.
Most of the way is fast going, but there are some piles of gravel around the edges of the trail. Bikes have the right side of the trail, horses the left. It's also well-marked for road crossings and driveways. A trail pass may be purchased for a small fee at the Village Cyclery on East Main in Pinckney, before you hit the trail. Things to see: Creeks, marshes, birds, wildflowers, Stockbridge's historic village square."
