Shupac Lake State Forest Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Shupac Lake is OK for fishing for panfish, but boat motors are restricted. If you’re looking for trout, the Au Sable River is a half mile west. The campground claims there’s hiking, but the closest trail is about 15 miles away at Big Bear Lake, a 2.2-mile loop. The camp- sites are short and shaded and strung out in a long line, the eastern side just some paces from the lakeside behind them. Hartwick Pines State Park is more developed, but this is a good place for a simple quiet escape. Don’t confuse this with Shoepac Lake."
