Hanson Hills Loop

Hanson Hills Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This ride combines the old with the new: Wide cross-country ski trails developed in the 1930s merge with late 1990s singletrack trails. The trails meander over a small downhill skiing area, part of the Hanson Hills Recreation Area, and farther into the Hanson State Game Refuge. Maintained by a local community group, the trails have big views from the top of the ski hill and exciting downhills.

The route described here begins on a sandy doubletrack but quickly turns off onto a singletrack trail and climbs to a ridge. With the National Trail Day Celebration taking place here the first weekend in June and new singletrack in development, Hanson Hills is a mountain biking destination to keep an eye on. Tread: 2.75 miles of doubletrack, 3.35 miles of singletrack."
