Au Sable River Professional Review and Guide
"TU’s home waters. Ride a narrow riverboat or wade for big browns. Local TU chapters are continuing the effort to stabilize sand banks that threaten to erode and dump suffocating sediments into the river. After cutting through the town, gathering water from the confluence with its East Branch and ducking under the highway, the river takes the shape that will sustain it through the Holy Water, eight miles of fly-fishing-only, no-kill angling. Riffling a gravel and sand bottom, tufted here and there with waving strands of
aquatic grasses, this stretch is quite wadeable and fish hold in easily seen lies.
Species: Brown, rainbow, brook.
Angling methods: spin, and fly-fishing."
