Mead Creek State Forest Campground

Mead Creek State Forest Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Manistique River passes through the scenic Seney National Wildlife Refuge, and paddlers come for hours or days to enjoy some of its 60-mile journey to Lake Michi- gan. Just south of the refuge are this campground and the similar Merwin Creek Campground, but this is the first takeout for paddlers. The fishing is good for a variety of species: lake trout, lake herring, pike, bass, walleye, perch, muskie, and bluegill. A gravel ramp gets medium-size boats into the water. The campground is on the east side of the river and offers privacy and good shade."
