Empire Bluff Trail

Empire Bluff Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A picturesque, point-to-point hike with a final panorama that has caused many hikers to turn an hour's hike into an all-day outing to the 400-foot-hig bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan. Empire Bluff is rated by many as the best 2-mile hike anywhere in the state of Michigan.

The hike is not difficult, and the rewards along the route are similar to those reserved for hikers who endure much more difficult systems. The hike is interrupted by six interpretive stations and a spectacular view at the outer end of the trail, revealing much of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Platte Bay, and, 7 miles offshore, South Manitou Island."
