Gene’s Pond State Forest Campground

Gene’s Pond State Forest Campground Professional Review and Guide

"To be honest, 734 acres might seem a bit more than just a “pond.” Anglers have a hard-surface ramp to get in here for the walleye, bass, and panfish, but paddlers will also enjoy the scenery of the nooks and crannies of the shoreline. The wetlands around the pond are rich with birdlife, including loons, herons, bald eagles, and ospreys. The forest has 2.3 miles of trail that works well for both hikers and mountain bikers. The sites are nicely shaded, and the park itself is down its own road and feels secluded."
