Woodland Hills is home to one of the last vestiges of beech-maple forests in southeastern Michigan. Never mind that the network of trails crisscrossing this nature park lies a stone’s throw from busy I-696 in one of metro Detroit’s busiest and most populous suburbs. Although the white noise of the highway is a constant reminder that civilization is not far away, you will find here a refuge from suburbia. The route meanders over gentle hills and through mature and young woods, tangled brush, and wetlands.
