Pioneer Trail Park and Campground Professional Review and Guide
"The Escanaba River flows 52 miles south to empty into Little Bay de Noc on Lake Michigan. This park sits across the river from the City of Escanaba and just east of the last dam before the lake. Paddlers enjoy the slow waters farther upstream, and anglers can fish from the bank in the park. Most of the campsites are large and grassy and offer the shade of hard- woods, but only a few are considered riverside. A cemetery from the pioneer days lies along the park’s historic hiking trail. Because of the playground and sporting fields and equipment, this is a popular recreation park for locals."
