This state forest campground is nice enough, with good tree cover and a quiet little lake full of panfish. The boat ramp is right on-site, but other than that you’ll need to drive a bit for other activities. Hiking is 23 miles southeast at Lake Mary Plains Trail inside Glidden Lake State Forest Campground. ATV users are 32 miles from Baraga Plains ATV Trail, and wildlife seekers go even farther to reach Deer Marsh Interpretive Trail. So come here either for day trips from home base or a low-key getaway in the woods.
