The Au Train Amble: Santa Claus and Three Waterfalls Professional Review and Guide
"While riding along M-28 west of Munising, it seems that the view of Lake Superior couldn't get more spectacular-then the next view argues the point. Plenty of roadside parks offer comfortable spots for contemplation of the big lake, as well as breaks from the occasional long and steep hills. Along the way you will see some of the best pines and birches in the state, three wonderful waterfalls, and a town where Santa Claus "reins" supreme each month, not just in September.
The main attraction, Lake Superior, was so called by the French supposedly not because it's the second-largest lake in the world but for its location north of, or "superior" (meaning above) to, Lake Huron. Things to see: Three waterfalls, sandy beaches of Lake Superior, Lake Au Train, towns of Munising, Au Train, and Christmas."
