Located on Bay Furnace of Lake Superior, about 2 miles west of the ferry crossing to Grand Island, this campground offers some fine lake views with sites shaded by tall pine. The layout facing north means one can see both sunrise and sunset here. The beach is a bit rocky. Ruins of an old iron furnace are nearby. This is a nice option for base camp for visits to Pic- tured Rocks National Lakeshore, plus there is a campsite for divers exploring the shipwrecks of the Alger Underwater Preserve.
