Fisherman’s Island State Park Professional Review and Guide
"The name of the park isn’t entirely accurate any longer. What was an island has now become a sandy peninsula due to years of low water levels on Lake Michigan. The state park’s campsites are divided into 2 campgrounds along the shore offering sites among the sand dunes and a hiking trail that connects both areas. The beach, along Lake Michigan, faces the sunset and is good for swimming. The terrain is lovely, with rolling dunes overgrown with aspen, birch, and maple forest and interspersed by cedar and black spruce bogs. The entry road is from the north end of the park."
