Once a chain of 6 lakes, Haymarsh Lake was created in 1949 by a dam and now offers 375 acres of surface water. Anglers love the lake; hunters come for the good game. (Hunting permitted beginning October 1.) These nicely shaded rustic sites are spread out north to south along the west shore of the lake. The boat launch is at the southern end of the park, but be aware some of the park roads can be rough and potholed. No reservations taken, and you have to use the self-pay station.
