Presque Isle River Waterfalls Loop

Presque Isle River Waterfalls Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Three thundering waterfalls, tucked into a stretch of river just over a half mile long, put on a memorable show here. A parade of cascades and swirling rapids adds to the setting, while striking old-growth trees, virgin white pine, hemlock, and white cedar line the riverbank.

All three falls take their names from Native American spirit warriors. Begin your tour from the east end of the picnic area parking lot, following a broad trail east fifty paces to a fork. There turn left (northeast), follow the sign that says “Foot Bridge to Island” and walk 170 paces north to the top of a set of wooden stairs. Descend the stairs to the suspension bridge. Continue descending, going straight (east) as the West River Trail enters on a raised boardwalk from the right (south), halfway down the stairs."
