This rustic campground is popular with anglers who come to Black Creek and 2 nearby lakes in search of walleye, bass, perch, pike, and panfish. Sites are spacious and shaded, and are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. The creek runs just west of the site loops. The field office is in Sanford, and there is a self-pay system in place. Hiking opportunities are a short drive away, including 10 miles of trail at Pine Haven, 20 miles of paved trail at Pere Marquette, and access to the 280-mile Midland County to Mackinaw City Trail. Boat access is at Sanford or Wixom Lake.
