Clear Lake State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"One way to keep a lake less developed is to wrap it with state park land. The 290-acre state park, within Mackinaw State Forest, has two-thirds of this 133-acre, spring-fed lake’s shoreline. The swimming area is sandy and shallow, making it nice for children. The loops and the sites themselves are moderately spacious and shaded, and the park has a reputation for being a quiet, peaceful place. A spur trail takes ORV riders to the Atlanta ORV route, and mountain bikers share 4.5 miles of a loop within the park with hikers. A 48-mile scenic drive, marked by yellow-topped signposts, explores areas outside the park. This is elk country, and if you are lucky you may hear or even see one."
