W. J. Hayes State Park Professional Review and Guide
"This 654-acre state park set amid the rolling landscape of the Irish Hills region offers good fishing lakes that are also good for swimming and boating. The modern camp- ground doesn’t offer much in the way of privacy, and more than half of the sites have no shade, but all sites have electric hookups. The campgrounds are walking distance to the water though not in sight of it. Hayes is one of the oldest Michigan state parks and named for a former senator. Two historic towers stand together in the park. Big attractions outside the park are Cambridge Junction Historical State Park and the Michigan International Speedway."
