Canyon Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Aptly named Canyon Falls is a spectacularly scenic area that can be as mild--or as wild--as you want it to be. An official, constructed trail leads to the namesake waterfall, which is a beauty. As that path ends, the gorge area begins, offering nimble hikers an adventurous outing along its rim.
Begin your hike at the marked trailhead at the southwest corner of the Canyon Falls roadside park. Walk southwest on a broad, graveled path, the Canyon Falls Trail. About 400 paces from the parking area, the trail nears the Sturgeon River and its swift water. A series of low ledge drops—most just a few inches and one waist high—adds to the current’s velocity as it nears Canyon Falls. This stretch of river is worth taking your time over."
