"The Crook Trail crosses a meadow, then follows upstream along the Pemaquid River through a ferny woods. After leaving the river, a side trail leads north to Boyd Pond—a wide spot in the river. The hike heads back toward the trailhead over higher ground through a dry mixed forest."
