Knight Trail

Knight Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A short, sweet loop through a hilltop fruit orchard and high mowing overlooking the grand estuary of the Webhannet River. The Knight Trail offers many pleasant views of the surrounding countryside and is one of the shorter trails in the reserve. Laudholm Farm is one of twenty-five national estuarine research reserves managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Situated in a prime seacoast location, the reserve includes parts of the Little River and Webhannet River watersheds as they flow into the Atlantic Ocean. Several ecological areas, including a salt marsh, barrier beach, upland meadows, and forest make up the reserve. Research studies indicate that 70 percent of the fish caught off the Atlantic seaboard depend for survival on estuaries like this one. Special Features: orchard blossoms in spring, overlook of Webhannet estuary, and visitor center with exhibits and programs."
