Schoodic Mountain Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"From the waterfront in Bar Harbor, the shiny granite summit of Schoodic Mountain rises to the north of Frenchman Bay. Frequently seen by Acadia visitors who opt for more crowded trails on Mount Desert Island, Schoodic offers a similar feel with fewer fellow travelers. On the western edge of the Donnell Pond Public Reserved Land, a pocket of conservation totaling more than 14,000 acres, the mountain is accessible via a modest loop that includes a stop at a wonderful freshwater beach. The perfect destination for hikers of all ages, the top of Schoodic Mountain boasts one of Maine’s most spectacular ocean views."
