The Bubbles Trail

The Bubbles Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A short but irresistible climb to the summits of Jordan Pond’s distinctive mountains. The Bubbles are two well-rounded granite hills that stand at the northern end of Jordan Pond. Their shape and location are so distinctive, it is hard to imagine Jordan Pond without them.

At an estimated 770 feet and 872 feet, they are far from being the tallest mountains in the park, but they do provide good views of the pond and the taller surrounding peaks. South Bubble is also home to perhaps the most well known rock in the state of Maine: Bubble Rock, perched precariously over the steep eastern slope of the mountain, is a perfect example of a glacial erratic."

Nice summit, 0.6 mile from the parking area. I only scored this summit as part of a five summit loop around Jordan Pond. I'd take my kids up this, but wouldn't target this hike as a primary objective. And in a rain storm, the trail becoms a full-on creek. With that said, the footing is still quite good.
