Saco Beach Loop

Saco Beach Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Stroll along a sandy beach, hike through mixed woods and past salt marshes, and visit a rare tupelo swamp on this wonderfully diverse loop hike.

Ferry Beach State Park is a 117-acre gem in Maine’s state park system. It features more than 1.5 miles of white sand beach fronting on the Atlantic Ocean and a pleasant network of five foot trails that offer 1.4 miles of hiking through mixed woods, including a rare tupelo swamp and a freshwater pond. By combining four of the park’s trails plus a walk along Ferry Beach with three trails in the Saco Bay Trails system (Atlantic Way, Plymouth Trail, and Vines Trail) as well as several short sections of paved road, you can enjoy a wonderfully diverse 4-mile loop hike."
