Rangeley Lake State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The campground at Rangeley Lake State Park is exceptionally quiet. You’ll occasionally hear the sound of a motorboat cruising by on the lake, but other than that it’s just you, the wind through the trees, and the birds. The loons out on the lake are an essential part of the soundtrack on an evening at the park.
The 50 campsites here are spread out around a single large loop. Sites 2, 3, 6, 10, 17, 21, 27, 33, and 42 are first-come, first-served; the rest can be reserved. The sites here are set beneath a dense, truly mixed forest of young and old, deciduous and coniferous trees. A nice amount of forest and space between sites provides a solid sense of seclusion in almost all of them. This is a very remote campground with relatively few sites, so there is lots of privacy and silence."
