Quaggy Joe Mountain Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Quaggy Joe Mountain rises from the rolling hills of Aroostook County southwest of Presque Isle. The mountain is made of erosion-resistant rhyolite, a volcanic rock found in several parts of Maine.

The mountain was formed when the softer sedimentary rock around Quaggy Joe Mountain eroded away, leaving a small, steep-sided mountain. The trails on the mountain reflect this geologic history: They are steep and rocky. North Peak offers fine views in every direction."
