Trout Brook Mountain Trail

Trout Brook Mountain Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Located in the quiet northeastern corner of Baxter State Park, the loop over Trout Brook Mountain is an excellent half-day trek that can be done in combination with a number of other short hikes in the area.

Traversing classic northern Maine forests along gradual slopes, the journey leads to an open 1767-foot summit and a number of scenic ledges where nearby mountains and the endless expanse of Maine’s vast north woods stand on display. Trout Brook Mountain is a good choice for people of all ages and for those who hike infrequently."

This is a moderate trail in difficulty, with spectacular views. The top of this mountain is covered in wild blueberries - a nice treat for hikers! We did this hike with our children ages 12, 14 and 16. It was a great hike for them as well
