Presumpscot River

Presumpscot River Professional Review and Guide

"Clear and cold, this river is an outlet of Sebago Lake. Even in dry weather, a good head of water can be expected, making for good angling when other streams and rivers are too low.

Special fishing regulations on various sections of the river include fly-fishing-only, no-kill on landlocked salmon, a one-fish bag limit on trout, and closed sections of river; check the open water fishing regulations carefully before fishing. Water levels can rise quickly here, so be on the alert when wading. It is possible to fish without wading, but you will be somewhat limited. Windham has plenty of motels and nearby Sebago Lake State Park offers camping. Key Species: brown trout, brook trout, landlocked salmon."
