Dodge Point

Newcastle, Maine

Dodge Point Professional Review and Guide

"The hike around Dodge Point Public Reserved Land passes through a mature oak-pine forest along the Ravine Trail through land covered by deep glacial till. The hike passes man-made Ice Pond, which has become a picturesque part of the landscape.

Much of the hike is along the shore of the tidal Damariscotta River. The complex geology of the Mid-Coast is on display in the bedrock and beach types. The hike offers shore access to several places that are popular for swimming."
