Gulf Hagas Professional Review and Guide
"Gulf Hagas is one of Maine’s deepest canyons. The hike follows the West Branch Pleasant River as it drops 400 feet in 4 miles through the Gulf. There are numerous waterfalls and rapids. The walls of the Gulf rise vertical at times as much as 140 feet. Below Gulf Hagas the hike follows Gulf Hagas Brook up past numerous waterfalls, including Screw Auger Falls—the highest on the hike."
