Kettle Pond

Kettle Pond Professional Review and Guide

"The Kettle Pond Trail begins just north of Abol Beach. The trail skirts Abol Pond, then crosses the Tote Road. North of the Tote Road, the trail passes near several kettle ponds before ending at the Tote Road. This is a good hike for a quiet stroll to ?nd wild?owers and mushrooms. Watch for deer and moose near the ponds and bogs.

Across the Tote Road, the trail drops down off the esker. You pass several large boulders sitting in the woods. Notice that down off the esker, the forest is wetter and the trees mostly hardwoods. The elevation here is barely 600 feet above sea
level. The trail passes several small ponds, some no larger than vernal pools."
