Pleasant Bay: Milbridge to Mink Island Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"As you head east of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, the territory becomes a lot wilder—higher tides, stronger currents, fewer boats, less people, more solitude. That means small-boat navigation requires some extra care but also is rewarded with a slower and quieter tempo.
Some lovely towns east of Acadia National Park give access to great paddling in less crowded coastal waters, with few whale-watching boats, ferries, or yachts, and only a handful of lobster and fishing boats. You virtually have the place to yourself."
