Piazza RockTrail Professional Review and Guide
"Big boulders, a giant hanging rock, and secret caves make this short jaunt a must-do in the Rangeley Lakes region of’ western Maine. The up-and-back hike follows the famed Appalachian Trail and is a fun one to do with children. The walk is relatively short and gentle (perfect for short attention spans and little legs), and kids love to see the massive rock that seems to be magically suspended in air.
Nearby, they can explore a series of’ boulder caves. We also like the options you have to lengthen this hike. Travel a bit farther, and you’ll come to the shores of a scenic mountain pond. Opt in for the long haul, and continue on the trail to the windblown, arctic-like summit of 4120-foot Saddleback Mountain—a classic, though strenuous, hike on the AT on its way across Maine."
