Machias River Heritage Trail

Machias River Heritage Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Meander along a wild and free-flowing stretch of the Machias River, then loop back to the start via the Downeast Sunrise Trail, a converted rail-to-trail.

The Machias River Preserve is part of the Two Rivers Conservation Area, a community conservation project that protects 1,000 acres and 5.5 miles of river frontage on two properties, the other being Middle River Park on the Middle River just north of where it joins the Machias River on the east side of the town of Machias."
