Trail Information

Nearby City
14-16 nautical miles
Skill Level
18.35-foot range at Eastport. Floods to the northeast. Strong mid-tide currents. Planning for current-assist is crucial. Near-shore eddies tend to oppose dominant, offshore current.
Tidal Information
Conditions may quickly change from serene to outright dangerous. Paddlers here must have advanced skills and judgment. The area is subject to open ocean conditions and swift tidal currents. In addition, reflecting waves and current interacting with eddies may create large areas of extremely confused and challenging seas. Long stretches of cliffs and steep shoreline make it difficult if not impossible to land in some areas. Landing potential is completely relative to conditions and a paddler’s skills; be prepared to be in your boat for a while. If you’re unsure of your abilities or conditions, do not attempt this route.
