Bangor City Forest and Orono Bog Boardwalk

Bangor City Forest and Orono Bog Boardwalk Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The loop hike around the outside of Bangor City Forest offers an easy hike with surprisingly good opportunities to see wildlife. The Orono Bog Boardwalk is unique in the state. It is nearly a mile long, looping out through a raised peat bog.

The Orono Bog is part of the much larger Penjajawoc-Caribou Bog complex that extends from Bangor north beyond Pushaw Lake. The hike, using the Veazie Railroad Bed, links with other trail systems—particularly the Walden-Parke Preserve—in and around the wetland system."
