Kennebunkport Professional Review and Guide
"A seaside walk in one of southern Maine's most noted villages. The hike takes you past former President and Mrs. George Herbert Walker Bush's home at Walker Point. Views include a panoramic look at the Kennebunk River, the Atlantic Ocean, and on a clear day, Mount Agamenticus, a lone mountain to the south.
You can walk along the beach first to stretch your legs for the hike. For the trail, walk out of the parking lot and turn right along Ocean Avenue with its Victorian houses. The first place of interest is Parson’s Park on the right. This small oceanside park offers good views of the ocean, the Kennebunk River, and sometimes Mount Agamenticus to the south. Proceed along the trail and around a bend, where you will confront the open ocean. Here, with an onshore wind, you can experience the power and fury of the Atlantic in all its glory. If you are here at half tide, you can observe a natural fountain known as Spouting Rock. A large crevice has been carved out by the elements; as the tide forces rolling waves into the crevice, a tall plume of spray is ejected far into the air."
