Mousam River Oxbow Trail

Mousam River Oxbow Trail Professional Review and Guide

"An abandoned railroad bed and a short side trail leading to the broad, grassy banks of the Mousam River. Some parts of the path are in a residential area, but the views here along the river still evoke the wild and the wonderful.

Landowners along the pathway vary from public to private and include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department, the Kennebunk Land Trust, and the Kennebunk Water and Sewage Department. Although some sections are privately owned, public access is allowed along the Bridle Path. Special Features: a prime river oxbow, turtles and herons, estuarial grassy land plateau, and part of 3-mile-long Bridle Path."
