11.31-foot range at Milbridge. Current in Eastern Bay floods to the north. For maximum tidal assist, paddle south on a falling tide and north on a rising tide. North of Head Harbor Island the current begins to funnel into Moosabec Reach. Though not on the route, Moosabec Reach develops a strong current, flooding to the east.
Tidal Information
Strong currents in Moosabec Reach; lobster boats. The area is known for its dense fog, which can descend unexpectedly. The south ends of Great Wass and neighboring islands are exposed to open ocean swell and can develop big conditions, especially when wind opposes tidal currents.
