Jamies Pond Wildlife Management Area Hallowell

Jamies Pond Wildlife Management Area (Hallowell) Professional Review and Guide

"A very well-marked trail system that primarily follows the north side of the Jamies Pond. The State of Maine Wildlife Management Area website says this about the property: “There are a total of 840 acres here that touch the periphery of three communities: Hallowell, Manchester, and Farmingdale. The pond is 75 feet deep and 107 acres wide, and it is stocked with brook trout and splake, while naturally also containing bass and pickerel.”

There are locator maps at each trailhead and trail intersection, but there are no maps available for the taking. The Pond Trail has two separate loops, both of which give hikers a nice view of Jamies Pond. The Vernal Pool Trail goes over a slight ridge and includes large glacial erratic boulders and huge pine trees. The Forest Trail is the biggest loop; it passes through dense woods and wetlands and runs along a stream, all on the north side of Jamies Pond."
