Prong Pond Professional Review and Guide
"Prong Pond, a little-noticed pond on the southeast side of giant Moosehead Lake, is just the right size for a pleasant day of canoeing. Though it looks small, the pond offers nine miles of perimeter to explore, extending in several long, narrow arms, or prongs.
Cedar, white pine, spruce, paper birch, and hemlock line the rocky shoreline of the main pond. Along some sections stately groves of tall red pine rise from the shore; a nice campsite lies under some of these pines on a point of land along the eastern shore of the pond. Prominent fish species: smallmouth bass, white perch, and yellow perch."
