Little Kineo Mountain

Little Kineo Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Little Kineo Mountain is part of the same rhyolite formation as Mount Kineo. The mountain rises just inland from its more famous sibling. The trail gently climbs the mountain up a series of steep, stair-like ledges. From the ledges you have views of Mount Kineo and parts of Moosehead Lake. The trail continues beyond the summit to an open rock ridge with views to the north.

Little Kineo is part of the same ancient lava flow that created Mount Kineo and Big and Little Spencer Mountains. But
unlike those mountains, Little Kineo’s summit is reached by
a relatively easy hike. Little Kineo is one of the most remote hikes in Maine."
