Gentian Pond

Gentian Pond Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The highlights of this overnight hike are four mountain tarns. You will hike by Page Pond, Dream Lake, and Moss Pond before reaching Gentian Pond, where you can spend the night at the shelter or camp on the hill overlooking the pond.

This hike will also take you over the east summit of Mount Hayes (elevation 2,555'), where you’ll find stunning views of the Northern Presidentials and the Carter–Moriah Range. The peak is reached via a 0.2-mile side trail. This is a roller coaster of a hike, but there are no major changes in elevation following the 3.0-mile climb to the east summit of Mount Hayes, during which you’ll gain 1,500 feet."
